Blood PEth Alcohol Test

Chronic (long-term) alcohol abuse is detected using a phosphatidyl ethanol (PEth) test. Chronic alcohol abuse causes changes to the cell membranes, which is detected by the PEth test.

  • Studies show the PEth Alcohol Drug Test can distinguish between intentional use and incidental exposure to ethanol (alcohol).
  • The PEth test tracks alcohol consumption back two to three weeks.
